Before I begin, let me first explain that I post this question meaning no disrespect to the family and friends of Heath Ledger. What I am about to present should be taken only as entertaining thought and not as a serious denial of his and his families loss. More than anything it is selfishness on my part, wanting to believe that Heath Ledger might one day reveal himself as indeed alive to the world.
So here it goes...is Heath Ledger really Dead?
I just finished watching The Dark Knight for the second time this weekend. Honestly, I could go see it again right now. I have been a huge Batman Begins fan and was very excited when I heard about the plans to make the Dark Knight. I can't say I was excited that Heath Ledger would be cast as the Joker. I have never been a Heath Ledger fan and never thought him that much of an actor. However, I guess I kept an open mind. When Heath died this past spring I was dissapointed as the death of anyone is sad, especially when young. Then after his death when tons of focus was put onto his performance of the Joker, I began to wonder and then worry that this was all simply coming because it was his last role before death. I feared that it really would not be that great. Heath and never really impressed me before. Just like many others, I wondered if all this hype was just a way to sell the movie and make as much cash off of it as possible.
But back to the beginning, I have now seen it twice, and am ready to see it again!
Heath did blow my socks off. His Joker was incredible and the entire film amazing. All the hype was merited and expectations surpased.
So here is where my questions begin. Seeing it now twice I have noticed a few things. One in particular is that in the end when Batman has the Joker suspended off the edge of the building. The Joker says something like "You can't kill me because of some sense of self rightousness, and I can't kill you because you are so much fun. I think we are destined to do this forever."
The movie continues on with the Joker being left to the police and then no information is given as to what happens with him. Was it originally planned to have him come back in a future installment of Christopher Nolan's version of the Batman story? Did Heath's untimley death throw a wrench into this idea or is this possibly still part of the plan?
No doubt to me when watching these movies that the director and others involved are very talented thinkers. Did they think of a way to produce drama in this movie both on and off the screen.
I am sure many people will pay money to see this movie for the reason it is Heath's last roll. I am sure that the producer's have had some degree of being okay with that. But was it planned? If Heath did enter into a way of faking his death, with his families knowledge, and being financially compensated for it. Would that not be a huge stunt that would draw attention like no other. I can truly imagine in 2 or 3 years seeing a preview hearing in darkness the Jokers voice and then light being shown on his face. Would that not draw attention?
How hard would it be for Heath to fake his death? How hard would it be for the producer's to reserve a private island for him to live on and pay Heath for his work and sacrafice. Would Heath be a guy willing to do this?
If true, it would be a shock. Definitley the largest Hollywood publicity stunt ever. But what to you think. Is it a possibility? If it was how would people react? Would you be mad?
I loved the movie. I am now a Heath Ledger fan. If it is true...I think it would be awesome...and I would love to see him as the Joker in the future. If it is not....I would have to say it was an amazing performance by a guy that died to young, I would of liked to have seen more of him and I hope he is in peace.
Let me know what you think. Please be respectfull in your comments.

Thats all well and good, but, let's say Heath IS alive...
It's kind of illegal to fake your death.
His 'second coming' would be spent in jail.
If so, they'd better give him his damn phone call.
i heard he did 9/11
I love heath and I truly wish that he is still alive. What gives hope is the image of the body bag, heath is a tall man with healthy body which means he couldnt be in this bag unless they cut his legs off !! I miss heath so much lets hope he will show again some day
